I made this last night and it was a huge success! I did make some changes after finding a non-thermomix recipe I liked. i substituted the 500gm of milk with 1 cup of milk and 1.5 cups of cream. I cooked the pasta separately and placed this in a baking dish, adding the mornay mix and stirring it through. I added some panko breadcrumbs to the top and baked for 20 minutes.
Unfortunately I won't make this again. I didn't add pasta but followed the recipe exactly. The mornay mixture was so runny it was like soup. I had to pour it into a saucepan and fix it by mixing up a roux of butter and flour to thicken it. It tasted fine, but, in future I'll just stick to doing it on the stove top.
I found this tuna mornay a bit dry but very nice nethertheless. I put it in the oven with some breadcrumbs and cheese. You need a big oven dish. Mine was 36 x 26 and 7cm high. I initially put the whole lot in a dish which was too small. Hope others don't make my mistake.
Really yum, added zucchini and carrot plus a tbsp of veggie stock paste. Served with rice.
My grand daughter loves this
Great meal a favourite of my family's. I always cook my pasta in the thermoserver with boiling water, cover and leave to stand while you make the sauce. I pop the moray and pasta in the oven topping with breadcrumbs and cheese! Delicious!
I made this tonight and threw in a tablespoon of vege stock paste and it was delicious. Gave it a little more flavour.
Cook pasta seperately
I learned to make an “all in” cheese sauce on the stove top and thought that was easy, but this makes it even more so.
I’m grateful for the comments, otherwise I’d have thrown in raw pasta!
i agree, recipe should be updated to specify cooked pasta
This is a regular in our household!!
i just cook pasta on the stove top!
yummmm
Just made this for dinner tonight, I didn’t add cheese and added veggies (zuchini and carrot with the onion) and broccoli and cauliflower (chopped small) at the last cook mark. Didn’t cook pasta as per previous comments says it doesn’t cook, had ours with rice instead.
Very easy very yumm, does require seasoning but that’s personal taste, will definitely make again
