Recipe's preparation

    Biscuit Dough
  1. Tip chick peas into rice basket to drain, and rinse well with water. Tip them out into mixing bowl and process 10 secs, speed 5.  Set aside.

Place butter and brown sugar in bowl and mix 30 secs, speed 4.  Add egg and maple syrup.  Mix 5 secs, speed 4.

Return chick peas to butter mix in bowl along with rolled oats, flour, bicarb soda and salt.  Mix 45 secs, speed 4.  You may need to use the spatula through the hole in the lid to help move the mixture around while it mixes.  Add choc chips and mix for 30 secs, reverse, speed 4, once again using the spatula while it mixes to help the choc chips mix evenly through the mixture.

Roll tablespoons of mixtre into balls and place on bakng tray.  Flatten slightly using base of MC.  Bake for 15 mins and cool on a rack.

Tip

The chick peas and rolled oats in these biscuits make them very dense and filling - perfect for school lunches.  Children will never know there are chick peas 'hiding' in these biscuits!  If you are a fan of the magic bean thermomix cake, this may be a recipe you would like to try.

These are great - I followed the recipe as it was but just added 50g of pepitas and sunflower seeds at the start with the chickpeas. Everyone loved them.

Amazing! I didn't believe they would taste as good as they do!

I didn't bother removing chickpeas once blitzed, I just added everything else to the mix and they turned out perfect. I also ran out of brown sugar so used half raw sugar. I did reduce sugar and choc chip amounts and they are still plenty sweet.

I'll be making these again as the kids have no idea they are healthy!!

    Thanks for the share.

YUM! I reduced the sugar after reading the comments (to 150g) and these are seriously delicious. I used MM's as its all I had - GOOOOD! There is no way my kids will ever know these have chickpeas in them - what a perfect lunhcbox snack full of added protein. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Yum! I also reduced sugar to150g, it did make a lot so I cooked half the batch and put the rest of the dough rolled up in glad wrap in the freezer.

These are superb!  I didn't take the chickpeas out, just kept adding everything and blending.  I also  reduced the sugar to 150g and added sunflower seeds, pumkin seeds and sutanas.  They taste wonderful and are nice and filling for the kids.  One batch also made quite a lot.  Thanks for the great recipe.
