Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 3 Red onions
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon tumeric powder
  • 2 fresh pineapples
  • 1 red chilli fresh, deseeded
  • 1 ginger knob, thumb size
  • 250 grams brown sugar
  • 175 grams Cider Vinegar
  • level teaspoon salt

Recipe's preparation

  1. Chop onion and deseeded chilli for 3 seconds on speed 7.


    Add Spices and sunflower oil. Cook on Varooma speed 1 for 5 min.


    Add remaining ingredients. Cook on 100 for 1 hour or until desired thickness.


    Pour into sterilised warm jars. Turn jars upside down until cool.


    Enjoy x

    With pineapples in season I tried this lovely recipe; few adaptations with my own herbs. I just wasn't sure with the TM6 what speed I should have put the thermomix at? The pineapple chunks needed to be broken down further so I up'd the speed just for that for 7 sec at 4.5. Then proceeded with the 60min 100deg at speed 1. Delish!

    Easy and delicious. My son likes hot sauce but on the mild sweet side so we made this togother. So good on a stir fry!

    This recipe is amazing, have made it twice in a week as all my friends are taking it home. I swapped out the sugar for coconut sugar in one batch and honey in the other.
