Something for Everyone staff picks

With over 80 delicious recipes inside Something for Everyone, it’s hard to pick which dish to cook first! To help you decide, we asked some of our Perth office staff (and their kids) to put together a list of their favourite recipes. Happy cooking from the Thermomix team!

Bianca, Executive Manager - New Zealand (and 20 month old son, Phoenix)

Lamb and barley soup, p.124

I love this soup, it really warms the heart and has been perfect on these cooler nights. The soup is packed full of flavour making it hard to resist a second helping. It’s great being able to control the amount of salt in your meals by making your own homemade stock. I make the stock regularly and freeze it so I always have it on hand when cooking meals like this one at home.

Wholemeal blueberry scones p.58

Phoenix is obsessed with blueberries! We are constantly having to hide the packets as he would devour all that are in sight. So these scones were definitely a favourite recipe for him. I love that there is no added sugar in this recipe and using wholemeal flour provides a great lower GI option.

It was great fun having Phoenix with me in the kitchen, watching me prepare the dough and form the scones. They look fantastic when they come out of the oven and are a great morning tea recipe to bake for when Phoenix’s playmates come over for a visit.

Ricotta gnocchi with cherry tomato sauce p.136

The ricotta gnocchi was a hit in our household! They were so easy and quick to make and a great dish to get the kids involved with when forming the gnocchi. Tomatoes are another favourite food of Phoenix’s and he loved the cherry tomato sauce that goes with the gnocchi. This is a great recipe to freeze as well if you happen to have any leftovers.

Sharon, Stock & Despatch

Bang bang chicken p.154

Our whole family loved this dish which was packed full of flavour.  I loved how easy it was to cook the chicken in the Varoma and shred it in the Thermomix bowl.

Prune and walnut brownies p.176

Dark chocolate fans will love these, as they offer a chocolate fix without all the extra sugar.

Sandra, Stock & Despatch

Best ever meatloaf p.168

I’m not normally a meatloaf fan, but the flavours in the glaze were fantastic. My tip is to save a little bit to serve as a sauce at the end.

Charmaine, Marketing Coordinator (and 2 ½ year old daughter Hazel)

Oat and raisin biscuits p.208

Made with wholemeal flour, oatmeal and less processed sugars, It’s also a good nut free snack Hazel can take to day-care. I see this being a regular in our pantry. Hazel enjoyed helping me make it, by pouring the ingredients into the bowl and scraping down the sides.

Thai Fish Cakes with cucumber dipping sauce p.90

This was delicious with the dipping sauce, which was tangy and refreshing. Hazel isn’t too fond of chillies just yet, but she ate the fish cakes on their own quite happily.

Osso bucco with white bean puree p.170

Both of us really loved this dish, having the bean puree is a great high-protein alternative to mashed potatoes. A dish we really enjoyed for the cooler evenings now that autumn has set in. We have also saved a portion for the freezer to have another time.

Murray Mews, Finance Manager (and 9 year old daughter, Maddison)

Chocolate Berry Birthday Cake p.214

It was child’s play. While Dad read the instructions 9 year old Maddison operated the Thermie and made the cake. With a simple set of ingredients found in most pantries, it is sure to be a hit.
