Recipe's preparation

  1. Add all ingredients into the TM bowl in the order listed.

  2. Gradually turn up to speed 5 and mix for 5 seconds on speed 5, scape down sides if needed prior to kneading.

  3. Mix 3 minutes Closed lid"Closed lid"  Dough mode"Dough mode" .

  4. Divide into 10 equal balls (I like to divide the batch in half then into fifths).

  5. Roll out into thermomat as thin as you can (being carefull not to roll it bigger than the pan you'll be using).

  6. Cook in a dry medium hot pan on both sides. You'll know when it's ready to turn or take off when a few bubbles go light golden brown on each side.

  7. Place on a plate or tray which has a wet/damp papertowel ready, and in between each tortilla place another wet/damp papertowel. The tortillas come out of the pan a little crispy, by placing them in between the wet/damp papertowels they absorb the moisture and you end up with lovely fluffy tortillas that won't tear when you fold/roll them.

  8. You can chose to warm them before you use them. I make these then use the same pan to make homemade taco mix - by the time the meat is done the tortillas are perfect and don't need reheating.

Tip

We found that once you fill the tortilla with your favourite fillings that two tortillas per adult is sufficient, three if there are any super hungry adults.I found this recipe on a website somewhere and cannot relocate it - thought this is a great alternative to the current tortilla recipes on the TM recipe site so had to share but cannot take the credit.

    Nice and Easy

These tortillas were quick to whip up and very easy to roll out and cook.

Unfortunately some of the layers of damp paper towels stuck to my cooked tortillas which was a pain but apart from that, they were fabulous. I used them when I made enchiladas and they worked really well in this dish.

    Thanks for a great recipe!

These wraps are the best ones I've made. They are soft and easy to wrap without breaking. Used them to make enchiladas and they were perfect. Thank you Smile

These wraps are fabulous. The tip about the wet paper towels is great. I was worried that they were a bit crisp and wouldn't roll, but a couple of hours with the damp towels and they were lovely. I'll be making this recipe again.
