Forum Too many cook books to choose from!! Which one should I get??
I love my Basics cookbook and want the veggie cooking book. I have been saved by the recipe community too.
Many many bases are covered with the Everyday Cook Book (ECB). In the EDC there are recipes for cooking in the bowl, cooking in the varoma, and multi-level cooking. I got my TM in February 2014 and I am still trying to make my way through the many and varied recipes in the ECB. If like one of the other posters in this thread you have trouble cooking any if the recipes in your EDC, contact your consultant for help.
Then there is the wonderful resource of the on-line recipe community where you can find recipes by name or ingredient (I have chicken on hand, what can I cook?). There are also blogs with recipes Which can be accessed easily by googling the name if the recipe with the word thermomix.
Cookbooks can then be purchased in line with your cooking interests. For example buy the indian book if you are interested in indian cooking, the asian book if you are interested in chinese cooking, the vegetarian book if you are interested in vegetarian cooking, the steaming book if you want to use your varoma more, etc...
The thermomix australia web-site often has indexes/contents attached to the page where the book can be purchased, and I found it useful to review these in helping to decide whether or not to make a purchase. For "Full Steam Ahead" I found the index by googling the name of the cookbook with the words thermomix and index. This didn't work for the Indian Cookbook but I bought it anyway as I was cooking Indian before I bought my TM and there are not many Indian recipes on the on-line recipe community.
The lunch box cookbook has some good recipes in it, i've found that very useful...but if i'm honest i spend alot of time looking on the community for recipes to try
Don't regret it! it has a great deal of delicious meals in there. I've had my Thermie for 4 years with no intolerances. I don't use all the different ingredients. I just use what I've got in the cupboard of fridge. That's what Jo would do too. This book is FANTASTIC at giving you the method of foods, especially for large quantities as Jo has a large family.
Ok - it's been my 40th at the same time as getting my thermo. I bought "quirky cooking" - love. Yes, designed primarily for allergies (my son is GF), but also great healthy options for everyone. I also invested in "my way of cooking" - looks like great options. Have to hand it to Thermomix, they really did cover all bases with the "everyday" cookbook.
I am new too - just got my thermi this week and am interested in cooking lots of healthy treats and snacks and lunch box stuff. Any ideas? I was thinking of the the quirky cookbook but not too sure given everyone elses feedback. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hi, I have owned my thermomix 12 months now and at first I didnr't like it. Some recipes I tried were unsuccessful therefore I was quickly losing my confidence and wanted to sell it. I decided to search the recipe community forum and done a lot of research. I save recipes and put them in my recipe file in catagories. I now love my thermomix and the meals and cakes etc I have cooked have been amazing. Restaurant quality. Read the reviews on each recipe, adapt to your own taste if necessary and I am sure you will be satisfied. I own one cookbook and very rarely look at it, I prefer the forum. Each day I go on the forum and read the most recent reviews and save the ones I like. A lot of the recipes from the cookbooks people put on the forum anyway. Happy searching and good luck, you will be hooked I promise you.
Hi im also new to cooking with the thermy I chose to order quirkys cookbook as everyone raves about it im personally wishing I didnt as it uses to many different ingredients id never use or buy if you have intolerance to dairy or gluten and already follow gluten free and dairy free diet it would be perfect. But for every day jo blog like myself I think it was a waste maybe when ive been cooking in thermie alot longer and can adapt and change recipes I will pull it out again.
I'm in same position, so am interested in any comments. The one that stands out to me is the "quirky cooking" cookbook.

Hi all!
I am very new to the thermomix and I am looking at purchasing a cook book or two. What would you recomend? are there any stand outs? or should i just stick with the recipe community?
Would love to know your thoughts.
Thank you for your help xo
