Forum Error C561 and C513
I'm having this issue too! My brand new out of the packet Festive Flavours chip isn't working. My BCB chip still works okay and so does the only other chip I own. It would be great to be able to find a remedy on here because 1800004838 is closed due to it being a Saturday and I'm assuming won't re-open until after the public holiday.

Hello,
I am getting the same error on my TM5. Error C561 and C513 come up everytime I start it. I can't use the recipe chip. The connecting points look fine and have been cleaned.

My chip is brand new first time out of the container and I got the message C513 I have tried the the other chip and it works the cook key works. Are you able to help please very frustrating when you just get a new thermomix and something doesn't work.the disc is the Everyday Cooking for Thermomix families

I too have the same error messages for the last chip I purchased.... I had ignored it as I was using the book but finally got around to emailing in and was told the chip is out of warranty. .... have others had the same response????

This has happened to me today. I called the 1800 number and was told that i would receive a "test" via email. I am still waiting. Why isn't a resolution posted? I have all 8 recipe chips AND NONE OF THEM WORK!

Hi, my only chip that works is my basic cookbook chip. All the others stopped working and they worked fine before! It tells me to clean and reconnect it but it doesnt work. Error C561 and C513 come up everytime I try to use it. Can you please help me? Thanks!

Hi I just attended a cooking experience and purchased the the every day cooking for thermomix families and the chip isn't working and comes up with an error code C513. I've shut the thermomix down and cleaned the contacts however to no avail. Any suggestions

Hi, i am also experiencing the C 561and the 513 errors. I haven't had them before and also have not gotten the chip wet or anything! Would love to know what to do / how to fix!!

I too have errors c561 and c513 come up when I turn on my machine. I've never taken the chip out and it hasn't gotten wet. I've tried to wipe it but no luck. My daughter is learning to cook with the chip recipes and we miss this function a lot. Particularly as she's started to cook me breakfast! Would appreciate your help to remedy this. Thanks.

It seems that these errors are occurring in a large number of people's Thermomixes.
I have found in the past when I have had an issue, it's best to contact your Thermoconsultant first. Generally, they will take the problem and find a solution for you. It's in their best interest to find a solution.
If it is not resolved to your satisfaction, I would write to the Thermomix Head Office and explain what the problem is. Provide them with a reasonable amount of time to reply.
Keep a record of all correspondence you have with Thermomix Australia.
Should you not receive a satisfactory result and your problem is not being resolved, it's time to take the matter to your state's consumer advocate. In NSW it's Fair Trading, Victoria is Consumer Affairs Victoria. The ACCC has a full list of the consumer protection agencies.
The Australian Consumer Law is there to protect you, and all goods must be sold of an acceptable quality. This means that your Thermomix should be safe, it should last and have no faults.
I hope this helps for anyone experiencing issues with their Thermomix. For the amount of money these machines cost, we (as the consumer) must expect that they will work even if they are out of warranty.

I am getting the same error on my TM. Error C561 and C513 come up everytime I start it. I have wiped the contacts with a clean dry cloth, but the chip hadn't been removed the whole time I have had the machine.

Hi, I have the same error C513, where I am asked to restart thermomix - which I have done as well as cleaning the contacts and reconnecting the chip all to no avail.
Please help as I cannot use the recipe chip at all. this seems to be something that is happening to a number of people so if there is an easy solution I would love to have it.

I sent an email and rang the Brisbane phone number to get help with a faulty chip today. I was on hold for sometime so ended the call and rang back. I left a message for someone to call back but I was not contacted. My basic cookbook chip has an error - I assume my machine is fine because my other chip is working fine...I am hoping to get some help with this.
