Forgot to reply to this, Thermomix replaced old mc and new still looks like new after a few weeks use. Fingers crossed all fixed Smile


My themie is 6 mths old or so. No problems so far but made dahl last night and the mc is full of little cracks. I checked and it's a SAN one.

Hi there,

I was blessed with a Thermomix for my birthday in August last year, but unfortunately since then I've had 2 MC's that have cracked and warped out of shape during the cooking process. I have noted that both MC's state 'SAN' on the plastic - is this the type of make, and is there an alternative? I'm worried that if I get another MC it will do the same thing.

looking forward to to creating many more meals with my Thermie...

I too have a cracked measuring cup.  I have just had my thermomix for a year and the crack has just appeared in mine too.

Dear Thermomix,

Can I please have a replacement mc?  I bought my thermomix in May 2013 and have used it at least twice per day since then!  I am now on my third mc and it is all crazed and very cracked.  It really needs replacing but my consultant no longer sells thermomixes.  How do I organise a new one?  Is the problem nearly solved or will I have to keep getting a replacement mc every few months?  We don't wash it in the dishwasher and have never dropped it on the tiles.  It is the only thing I don't love about my thermomix.

I'm also having problems with one of my MC's. I have two blade and bowls and the one marked PC is fine, while the other one is completely cracked. Head office, can you please contact me re a new one?

My MC developed cracks within a couple of weeks of purchase in March this year.  On Sunday I noticed that my brother's two year old MC is fine but it is made of Polycarbonate and is clearly labelled PC. I received my new MC yesterday with a note from Thermomix explaining that the faulty MC's  are made from a different plastic. I can clearly see that my other MC is labelled SAN not PC. Given that the faulty MC's are easily recognisable and that the Thermomix is delivered by a consultant, surely the consultant should examine and replace the MC on delivery. Why wait to receive complaints from the customer.? While I am making suggestions to Thermomix Australia may I also suggest that upon delivery a cleaning brush is also included. I absolutely love my Thermomix but sometimes it the little things that enhance the experience.

Ive had trouble with mine, it cracked and broke in half. Spoke with my consultant who said ill get a new one. Still waiting for thermomix to send me a new one after three weeks.

Our thermomix is now a year old and the MC is about to break right in half. The cracks started appearing in the first month of ownership and now it is in terrible condition....

Are the new cups made of different material?

Really enjoying my Thermomix since arriving in early March 2014.  It has really revitalised my interest in cooking. I too thought that I had done something wrong with the MC till a google search led me to this forum thread.  Within a month of use the MC began to look crazed and now some quite large cracks have appeared. I can see eventually that it could crack completely.  I am hoping like others you will be able to contact me presumably for an amicable resolution. 


I have had my Thermomix since December and like many others my MC has developed hairline cracks through it. At present I am still using it but am concerned if the cracks become bigger


Mine is badly cracked aswell, only a few months old Aw


We've had our thermomix a bit over a year and the MC clouded and cracked early on but it didn't seem to effect how it worked so we kept using it. Today it broke, have the ongoing problems with the MC been fixed now ?

I recieved a new measuring cup and seal within one week of typing a complaint post in this forum.  My thermomix now looks new and I am really impressed with the service and outcome of this.  Thanks


I thought I had done something wrong...same thing happened to me.  Should I get it replaced.?

 


I just received my Thermo mix today. My consultant had said that the plastics have been remanufactured to fall in line with BPA (?) free plastics and there was still a little work to be done on getting the "recipe" right. Hopefully this will be quickly overcome, but I for one feel happy to enjoy a better quality safer product. Good on Thermo mix and hopefully you get a MC that works better for you in future. best wishes.


Was searching for this particular conundrum with the MC. I bought my machine in April 2013, MC has lots of cracks, didn't realise it could be replaced by Thermomix. As my consultant lost interest post sale, pretty much manage myself with Thermie issues.

Received my Thermomix as a gift in April 2013. The MC was soon crazed , I thought I had done something wrong with it as it hadn't happened to any one else I knew. I always handwash. But then I read this thread and thought maybe it's not me!. Is it worth buying another before this one breaks?

 


We bought our new Thermomix in June 2009 and use it daily. It has been absolutely brilliant and we are constantly finding or creating new receipes for it.

However the MC seems to have a design flaw. The first one gave up the ghost last year having deteriorated over a fairly long period. I ordered a replacement in June 2013. The replacement MC showed signs of deterioration very early on in the piece and today finally split in two. This can't be right! We only washed it by hand, having thought that was the issue with the first item, but to no avail...

Oh TM Australia, you must be so sick of hearing from us.  My MC has started to crack, just the littlest crack, but I know it's gonna get bigger (it's my third one and I've held off using this one only keeping it for "good" and cold mixing).  I also noticed the lid of my Varoma is starting to crack at the vents.  Eeek.  Should I contact my consultant, or leave it in your capable hands. Smile Smile

I am disapointed, I bought a 6  month old thermomix that was hardly used from Gumtree but the cup/lid had thread like cracks on it.  I used the thermomix 3 times just getting the hang of things and my cup broke right in half. It looks like there may be a fault in the material design. Can anybody tell me where i can get a replacement?

Oh dear, I thought I had just done something wrong with my MC, not that I could work out what, especially when it happen before I had had a month of ownership, but it appears I am not alone in having a cloudy and cracked MC.

 Dimmed my view on quality straight up, but otherwise I am loving Thermie and all the natural flavours we are enjoying, we've had it nearly six months and going strong.

My MC also went a milky colour after the first use. It now has shatter like cracks and a split. My consultant is no longer available .My friend got hers 3 months before me and her MC is perfect  . I can,t do without my Thermie so I am improvising

I brought my Thermomix in July 2013.  The measuring cup started getting cloudy and cracked a few weeks after I got it.  I didn't do anything about it as it still functioned and I was busy. It now has heappppps of cracks and is so bad that it has split in two.   My seal also has a split in it which appeared about 4 months ago.  Good news that others have had this issue sorted. Maybe I will too!


I owned TMX for about 6 months and my first replacement MC has now developed a hairline crack after less than 4 months of usage.  My consultant had resigned late last year and I don't know who to contact for a replacement.  Aw

Are these recently purchased Thermomixes?  I have had mine for 3 yrs now and mine still looks as new as the day I got it.  I really hope they fix this issue it's a shame to hear they are not lasting.

My mc and varoma lid are  still in perfect condition after almost daily use for around 18 months. Maybe the composition of the plastic has changed since then. My only issue is that when I take it off and place it on the kitchen bench I can't find it easily as my eyesight isn't great. Would love it to have a colour tint in it to make it more visible.  Stare
