    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!!!.   I make it for all my family and now some of my friends.  I toast 8 whole star anise along with the cloves and cardamon in step one and then blitz them unitl they are fine before adding the sugar in step 2 and continue on as per you recipe Only i don's add the vanilla powder as I like the spice.  One day I will experiment with the vanilla powder but for now, I have perfected my blend!!

Oh and 1TBLSP of your mix is only 2 SMART POINTS  for those on weight watchers and when blended with a cup of coconut and almond milk its only 3 Smart Points....Just heaven hot or cold!  (shop bought Chai Lattes are around 6-8 smart points so Winning!!!)

Thanks again for a fabulous recipe

I use coconut sugar instead of raw sugar and left out milk powder. Tastes pretty good. Thanks so much   Wish I had read the star ainse comment before I made it though tmrc_emoticons.(

A few star anise in the first step worked a treat as well.

Just add some vanilla essence to your mug when you make it. Would only need a tiny bit, add to your taste.

Would it be a disaster if I left out the vanilla powder? Wanted to make this but don't have any vanilla on hand....
