Recipe's preparation

    Cupcakes
  1. 1. Using the 'Too Easy Chocolate Cake' recipe by dividing into cupcakes.

  2. 2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees

  3. 3. Line the cupcake tin with 12 patty pans

  4. 4. Melt butter in Closed lid for 2 minutes at 60 degrees/ speed 4

  5. 5. Add remaining cupcake ingredients and mix Closed lid for 30 seconds/ speed 5

  6. 6. Pour mixture into the lined cupcake tins, then place in the oven for 15 minutes (or until inserted skewer comes out clean).

  7. 7. Remove cupcakes from the oven once cooked and allow to cool before decorating.

  8. Chocolate Ganache
  9. 1. Mill sugar in Closed lid for 3 seconds/ speed 10. Remove and set aside

  10. 2. Blitz chocolate in Closed lid for 10 seconds/ speed 8

  11. 3. Add sugar and cream to the chocolate. Melt on 50 degrees/ speed 5 for 2 minutes. Allow to cool a fraction before icing the cupcakes.

  12. Owl Decorations
  13. 1. Separate 24 Oreo biscuits, retaining the icing side of the biscuits.

  14. 2. Set aside 12 orange Smarties and 12 matching paired colour Smarties.

  15. 3. As you ice each cupcake, place two Oreo biscuits towards the top of the cake allowing both sides of the biscuit to hang off (to look like eyes)

  16. 4. Use a small bit of icing to apply the matching pair of Smarties to the middle of the Oreo biscuits

  17. 5. Press the orange Smartie side on into the cupcake between the two Oreo biscuits. Your cakes should now look like Owl faces. Allow icing to set before serving.

Tip

To make the whites of the 'owls' eyes brighter, smooth over with a warm knife before applying Smarties.
