Recipe's preparation

    At Home
  1. 1.  Grate dark chocolate 10secs/sp9 and set aside

    2.  Grate white chocolate 10secs/sp9 and add to dark

    3.  Grate milk chocolate 10secs/sp9

    4.  Add the dark and white chocolate back into the bowl and mix with milk chocolate 20secs/sp 4.

    5.  Set aside in a container suitable to travel.

    6.  Measure the different Your Inspiration at Home ingredients into the bowl and mix 10secs/sp 2.

    7.  Set aside in a container suitable to travel.

  2. On site (in my case, the church kitchen) before the function starts
  3. 8.  Put ½ grated chocolate into the bowl

    9.  Heat 3mins/50C/sp 3. If not all melted, repeat.

    10. Once melted, again heat 3mins/50C/sp 3, and slowly add 1 cup/250ml of milk (250ml) while stirring

    11. Add another 250ml of milk and mix 20secs/sp 6

    12. Add half the chocolate powder mixture to the bowl and mix 30secs/sp 6

    13. Add 1 litre milk to bowl

    14. Mix 30secs/sp 4

    15. Heat mixture 10mins/80C/sp 4

    16. Transfer to 2x1litre Thermos flasks.

  4. Second Batch
  5. Repeat steps 8 -14 in middle section.

Work out how long before you will be serving the hot chocolate. In my case it was for morning tea about 45 mins after I filled the Thermos flasks. Use that time for the next step.

    17. Heat mixture 45mins/50C/sp3.

    18. Heat mixture 10mins/80C/sp 4

    19. Serve in coffee mugs as requested.

    20. Enjoy!

  6. Other Comments
  7. 1 portion is a coffee mug with about 200ml of Hot Chocolate.

If you're interested 1 cup is about 7 propoints on Weight Watchers.

*** If you don’t have Your Inspiration at Home ingredients, make your own flavours to taste starting with a good drinking chocolate. I did a trial at home with cocoa included in the ingredients but didn’t like it. It just tasted like a cocoa hot chocolate – not what I wanted.

***I took home about 1½ – 2 cups in the thermos so I’ve frozen the mixture in ice cubes and will make it into ice cream! Not going to waste it!

Tip

For serving, I had 3 containers with grated white, milk and dark chocolate which people could sprinkle onto their hot chocolate. Just to be totally decadent.

You could also have marshmallows and/or whipped cream to serve with the drink.

I made this recipe for a morning tea for a group on a Ladies Church Day Retreat. Not everyone chose to have a hot chocolate - some wanted a tea or coffee which was also available.

You could make it for a school staff development day morning tea, an office treat, something special to have at a Thermomix Branch meeting.

For an extra special adult twist, you could also add some Baileys or Kahlua to it.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
