I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    To Make
  1. Add ingredients to bowl, and cook for 10 min/90°C/speed 3
  2. Pour into sterilised glass bottle and place in the fridge. Use 30-50ml per 500ml coffee or more if you like.

    Enjoy 😊

Tip

FOR AN ICED COFFEE FRAPPE:

Blend 1 cup of ice, 500ml of milk and 30-50ml iced coffee syrup to make a delicious frappe

REDUCED SUGAR VARIANT:

I have also made this on half sugar, and while it still works for iced coffee, it is less syrupy.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Made this last night and made an iced coffee this afternoon. Great recipe, not too sweet and right balance of coffee. Thank you.

Will this work with no sugar or replacement sweetener please

Sallie_Maree: I have done it with Splenda, it worked ok, I still make it.

I made this for my teenage kids and they love it. It's frothy, light, and packed with flavour. I made a half batch the first time in case it didn't work, and reduced the sugar to about 3/4 cup. I heated it for 7 mins at 90 because I reduced the quantities.
I just used nescafe instant. I'll definitely make the full batch next time.

Vez: Yes you could, keeping in mind that brewed coffee is stronger than instant, so you may have to adjust to taste. I've only ever made this with instant coffee as that's what my mum used to use Smile

jilly_5: If you mean brewed espresso, yes you could. However you can't use the grounds themselves as that will produce a gritty sludge.

Sallie_Maree: I personally have only ever tried making it with a substitute on stove top and it didn't turn out well. Pretty sure it was my error not the substitute though.

The only problem I see you running into, is that sugar makes it syrupy... a substitute may not do this.

Can you substitute sugar for a sugar substitute

Can you use freshly ground espresso?
