Ingredients

  • 500 grams Rump/Steak
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 30 grams olive oil, extra for browning meat
  • 100 grams Flour, Plain
  • 10 grams paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 can butter mushrooms
  • 1 can Crushed tomatos
  • 250 grams water

Recipe's preparation

    Browning the meat
  1. Place beef, flour, Paprika, salt and pepper into a bowl or bag and coat meat in flour mix

  2. Place olive oil in fry pan and then add meat and cook stiring till the meat is brown in colour on most sides (Approx 5 minutes)

  3. Making the Casserole
  4. place garlic and onion into the thermomix

    mix 5sec/SP 7

  5. Add Olive Oil and Saute

    2 min/Varoma/SP 2

  6. Add Browned meat, sliced carrots, mushrooms and Tomatoes and water- give small mix to get wet ingredients towards the bottom

    50min/100/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" SP 1

Tip

I serve ontop of mashed potato or rice, super yummy super easy

Pop the simmering basket ontop of the lid instead of the MC

    This was delish. I used tapioca in place of flour & added tbsp veggie stock paste. 

    I used fresh mushrooms as don't like tinned. I added frozen green beans for last 15 mins too.

    Had no mushrooms so put in some diced bacon instead, this meal was delicious.

    Easy to follow and had a nice thick consistency, with plenty of liquid for the mash! It was tasty but I'm not sure I enjoyed the butter mushroom taste to it. I'll pick a substitute the next time I make it, but the recipe itself worked really well. Thanks.
