  • 230 g plain flour
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 225 g sugar
  • 100 g vegetable oil
  • 250 g cold water
  • 10 g Vanilla Essence/Extract
  • 20 g white vinegar

Recipe's preparation

    Step 1
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

  2. Place all dry ingredients in the bowl.

  3. Add the oil, water and vanilla.  Mix on speed 4-5 for 5 sec.

  4. Add the vinegar.  Mix on speed 4-5 for 5 sec.

  5. Pour mixture into a round cake tin (the tin does not need to be greased) and bake for 25 to 30mins or until a skewer comes out clean.  Cool thoroughly.

Tip

Add 25g cocoa powder for a chocolate variation.

    lovely cake!

    just made this today and added the chocolate as you said. i replaced the vanilla extract for maple syrup and it's delicious!

    boil up some coconut cream (to simmering) and then add it to broken dark choc pieces. Very yum
