Ingredients

Dumplings

  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 125 g Milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 30 g fresh yeast or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried
  • 375 g plain flour
  • 20 sugar plums or president plums(since they are bigger halve them), Stones removed.Only use those plums.Others (Blood etc) won't work
  • 1 egg

Topping

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 250 g sugar
  • 200 g melted butter

Recipe's preparation

    Dumplings
  1. - add butter and melt   50C / speed2 / 1.30 minutes

    - add milk and heat   37C/speed1 / 3 minutes

    - add yeast, sugar speed 3 / 20 sec and leave for 10 minutes

    - then add egg and flour and first mix speed 6 / 1 minute and kneadDough mode"Dough mode"  2 minutes

    - wrap in Thermomat and leave to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size.Then take a small amount of dough and wrap arround 1 ( or 1/2) plum.Proceed until all the dough is used.

    -add 700 g water into the Thermomix. Place all the dumplings in both varoma baskets, maybe you need to cook in two lots.

    - Varoma /Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" / 25 minutes.

    - mix Cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle over dumplings and top with melted butter. Enjoy

    I made these forour dinner tonight. My grandmother was from Bohemia so we have always had these but our recipe uses potatoes. When I saw this I just had to try it. They were delicious and will definately make them again. Thanksfor the recipe.
