Ingredients

cinnamon sugar

  • 3 sticks of fresh cinnamon
  • 50 gram sugar

cake

  • 60 gram Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 250 gram brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 320 gram sour cream
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large red apples

Recipe's preparation

    Cinnamon Sugar:
  1. Place cinnamon sticks and sugar into bowl. Chop on speed8/10secs.

    Transfer to a bowl.

  2. Cake
  3. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease and line a 20cm round cake tin.

     

    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together for 30secs/speed 4. Scrap down sides of bowl.

     

    Add eggs and beat for a further 20secs/speed3.

     

    Add sour cream and beat for another 20secs/speed 4.

     

    Add in flour and baking soda. Combine well for 20secs/speed 4.

     

    Transfer into cake tin. Core apples and slice into thin wedges. Line around edges of cake as shown in picture.

     

    Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar to desired amount. Bake for an hour or until the skewer comes out clean when inserted into the middle of cake.

     

    Leave to cool in cake tin before serving.

    This cake is delicious. I added a heaped teaspoon of cinnamon to the cake mixture and only sprinkled sugar over the top, I also made mine into cupcakes as I find them easier to pack into lunch boxes. They were a winner with the whole family. Thanks for sharing
