Ingredients

  • 100 g buckwheat
  • 200 g Butter, cut into pieces
  • 100-200 g brown sugar, to taste
  • 250 g plain flour
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 50 g Sunflower Kernels

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1.      Preheat oven to 180C, grease a tin

    2.      Mill buckwheat 45 sec/speed 10. Transfer into a bowl and set aside

    3.      Place butter and sugar into mixing bowl and melt 4 min/60C/speed 1

    4.      Add flour, reserved buckwheat, soda and lemon juice (pour lemon juice on soda). Mix 15 sec /speed 5

    5.      Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula

    6.      Add sunflower kernels and mix 15 sec/speed 3

    7.      Transfer the mixture into prepared greased tin. The mixture will be dry and crumby.Press the mixture down tight using the back of a spoon or your fingers to form a smooth surface.

     

    8.      Bake 20 min. While hot, cut into small rectangles with a sharp knife. Allow to cool before serving or storing in an airtight container.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
