Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 3-4 pears peeled and cored
  • 110 g Butter, cubed
  • 230 g raw sugar
  • 480 g Self Raising Flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 50 g Milk

Topping

  • 80 g raw sugar
  • 4 tsp cinnamon, Ground

Recipe's preparation

    METHOD
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

  2. Add to TM pears and cubed butter and mix for 3 secs Speed 8

  3. Add all other ingredients and mix counter-clockwise operation speed 6 for 20 secs

  4. Place batter into 20cm round cake tin and smooth down the top (mixture should be thick)

  5. Bake for 1/2 hr and then take out - sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture over cake and return to oven for further 20-30 minutes until skewer comes out clean

Tip

Mixed Spice is great with the Pear in place of Cinnamon

    Very simple and tasty!

    I only had 2 pears so also added a very ripe banana, left out the sugar and threw in a handful of dark choc chips. Also didn't get around to doing the topping.... it worked out really well. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Great recipe! Fantastic for those pears that are looking a bit ordinary in the fruit bowl. My kids really loved this! Even the one that wouldn't normally dream of eating a cake that had fruit in it. Thanks so much for sharing. Love
