I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
1. Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees Celcius.
2.Grease 20cm round cake tins. Use as many as you can fit into your oven at one time. I use two at a time and just wash the tins in between.
3. Add all the cake ingredients into the Thermomix. Mix on Speed 5 for 30 seconds, scrap down the sides of the bowls, then mix again for another 2 minutes on speed 6.
4. Divide the batter evenly between 6 bowls.
5. Colour the batter with the food colouring. Colour Rec, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange (2 parts Yellow, 1 part Red), Purlple (3 parts Red, 1 part Blue).
6. Add the mixtures to the cake tins and Bake on 150 degrees celcius for a fan forced oven for 15-20 minutes. Insert a skewer into the centre of the cake to see if it's cooked through.
7. Take the cake out of the tin and put on a wire rack to cool. Cakes must be completely cool before icing.
1. Add all icing ingredients into the Thermomix. Mix on Speed 4 for 1 minute. Scrap down the sides and mix on Speed 4 for another minute.
2. Adjust the quantities if needed to ensure the right consistency. Make sure the icing is a good thick consistency.
1. Once all the cakes are completely cooled it is time to construct the master piece.
2. It is crucial to ensure that the cake are as flat as possible so that the layers stay level on top of each other. Therefore very carefully cut off the dome shape which may have formed in the middle of the cake. Try and get all cake layers the same size.
3. Start with the base (the Purple cake) and layer a very thin layer of icing on the top. Place the next layer ( the Blue cake) on top and repeat the process with the icing. Continue until you have constructed the cake with all 6 layers.
4. With the remaining icing it is time to ice the sides on the cake. Best to do the first layer and then build it up until the sides are smooth.
5. Enjoy the suprise when you cut into the middle!

Tip
When I made this recipe I actually used 3 Betty Crocker Cake Mixes, however the cake was extremely tall. I think 2 packets would make a much better size.

Jarett Lim:Then don’t make it and don’t rate it Jarett. It’s not called a healthy cake!!
Cake mixes don't count as a recipe
Made this for my daughters birthday. It was a hit! Thank you
Sorry, this recipe contains food colouring and it's harmful to heath eventhough it's nice.
Jarett
I made this cake with 3 mixes, and all in one, but marbled. It did take a long time to cook, but am very pleased with the result, will be iced with a marshmallow fondant tomorrow
