Ingredients

Base

  • 600 grams Marie biscuits, (or malt biscuits)
  • 250 grams Butter, (or margarine)
  • 400 grams condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup, (or brown sugar)

Topping - Melted Chocolate

  • 250 grams milk chocolate
  • 20 grams Copha, or oil/coconut oil (optional)

Recipe's preparation

    Base
  1. Line large slice tray or container with baking paper.
    Approx 20cmx30cm or two smaller trays/containers.
  2. Add 200gm of biscuits to thermomix.
    Blitz 6 seconds, speed 6 (or until resemble a coarse crumble)
  3. Place biscuits into a large bowl and set aside. Repeat for remaining biscuits.
  4. Dust out thermomix
  5. Add butter, condensed milk and golden syrup to bowl 5 minutes, 80 degrees, speed 4
  6. Pour caramel mixture over biscuit crumb and combine with spatula.
  7. Topping - Melted Chocolate
  8. Melt chocolate in microwave and pour over slice.
    *Use 20 second bursts at 50-70% power.
  9. Allow to cool/set in refridgerator
  10. **To melt chocolate in Thermomix in is essential it is totally dry as if there is moisture chocolate will sieze. Grate chocolate 10 seconds, speed 9 Heat 5 minutes, 50 degrees, speed 1 Scrape down sides of bowl and and repeat heat

Substitutions for basic ingredients can be made as per ingredients

A small amount of fat/oil 20g (butter, copha, coconut oil, vegetable oil) can be added to chocolate to enable easier cutting.

Slice freezes well.
