  • 175 g shortcut bacon
  • 10 g olive oil
  • 250 g cream cheese, (softened)
  • 250g g sour cream
  • 100 g Grated Tasty Cheese

Recipe's preparation

    Prepare Cob Loaf Bread
  1. Cut approx 1/3 off the top of your cob loaf and hollow out. Leaving approx 2-3 cm thickness to form a bowl shape. Place cob bowl and bread pieces onto a large baking tray, set aside. 

     

  2. Preheat oven to 160-180 degrees. 

  3. Dip
  4. Peel and quarter 1 brown onion, add to Thermomix. 

     

     

  5. Chop for 2 secs, speed 5 (adjust this to your preferred chunkiness). 

     

  6. Add bacon and chop for 2 secs, speed 4. 

     

  7. Scrape down sides and add oil. 

  8. Cook for 5 - 6 mins, Varoma, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" with no m/c. 

     

  9. Add softened cream cheese. 

    Mix in for 15 secs, speed 3. Depending on the softeness of your cream cheese. Mix until there are no clumps of cream cheese. 

     

  10. Add sour cream and only 50g of grated cheese. Combine for 10 secs on speed 3. 

     

  11. Cook for 7 mins at 90 degrees Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" .

    The mixture should have thickened. 

     

  12. Spoon mixture into the prepared cob loaf. Top with remainder of grated cheese. Cook in the preheated oven for 10-15 mins depending on how crunchy you like the bread. 

     

  13. Remove from oven and serve. 

    Use the pulled out pieces to serve and then tear apart the bowl and enjoy!

Tip

You could add grated mozarella or swiss cheese for different flavours. 

Try adding some spring onions or chives too.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
