Recipe's preparation

  1. Feijoas and apples don't need to be peeled, just wipe, cut off ends of feijoas and cut in half - and quarter and core apples.

Chop onion and apples 2 secs, speed 7.

Add feijoas and chop 2 secs, speed 6.

Add other ingredients and cook at 100 on speed 1 for 30 minutes with the MC tipped or simmering basket on top

Check that chutney has thickened, and if necessary cook a further 15 minutes on speed 1 at 100 until thick.

Pour into sterilised jars and cover when cool.

Enjoy with a cheeseboard, in sandwiches, crackers and accompanying savoury lunch dishes or curries. Add to gravies to deepen flavour.

This recipe is converted from my late Aunty Jeans family favourite recipe. I always think of her during Feijoa season.

Smile A very easy and delicious recipe. As like many others I cut back the sugar & added sultanas to mine. I will definately be making this again & I will probably add the chopped Chilli for a little bit of extra bite tmrc_emoticons.) Thank you for sharing.

I have a feijoa tree and usually give them away. Ridiculously, I've never tried them. Thought i'd make the chutney, but don't know how to prepare them. Do I need to peel them for this recipe?

This was a very quick and easy recipe with not much fuss, that ended in an absolutely delicious result which goes very well with cheese and crackers. Definitely recommend. One batch makes approximately four average size jars of chutney.

Good option to add dates and lessen sugar content. I do this with Sweet Chilli Sauce recipe on here.

Fantastic and easy recipe, thanks! I didn't have enough feijoas, so I added 1 cup of dates and lessened brown sugar to 1 1/4 cups.  Easily could have reduced it to 3/4 - 1cup.

    Delicious Regards,

I made a batch today but used dates instead if brown sugar as I only had a1/4 of a cup. Also added a couple of hand fulls of sultanas at the ends and processed for another 5 mins at speed 3. Turned out very Yummy
