I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    relish
  1. place everything in jug chop 10-20secs/speed4

scrape down and cook for 15mins /100/speed 1'5

then cook further 15min/veroma/with steaming basket in place veroma

check after 10mins i always check because can depend on ripeness of figs as to amount liquid once looks thick pour into a sterilized jar and seal

Tip

this can be made in t31 i would not recommend doubling recipe as could splatter.

It has a sweet flavour sutable with cold meats ot on cheese platter,or with pork chop

you could add chilli for a kick

i just had lots ripe figs tmrc_emoticons.)

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I made this last night to go with an Indonesian pork in coconut milk recipe. Absolutely delicious! Very spicy, but really fruity and cleansing.

So good and easy! Did not have allspice....just added 1tsp freshly grated nutmeg, 1 med brown onion, 1 fresh chilli and good chunk fresh ginger. Cheers for sharing

I used only 150gms of coconut sugar to 600gms of figs and added 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger. It made 2 small 250gm jars. Delicious!

Love this simple recipe...tastes great...I used a combination of different vinigars just to use them up out the cupboard and taste great. I doubled the batch and cooked for about 30mins longer.

This is great! I was given a bag full of overripe figs and had no idea what to do. I found this recipe and the rest is history. It's perfect with cheese and red wine Smile
