Recipe's preparation

    Preparation
  1. Crack eggs into a separate container.

  2. Weigh milk into separate jug.

  3. Weigh flour into bowl.

  4. Put lid onto mixing bowl without MC.

  5. Add pinch of salt through hole in lid.

  6. Start machine on speed 2 and gradually start adding the eggs until all combined (should take approximately 30 secs).

  7. Gradually add milk until smooth batter is formed (should take approximately 1 min).

  8. Put MC into lid and mix on speed 4 for 30 secs.

  9. Heat oven to 225 degrees.

  10. Use a 12 hole muffin tray and add a tsp oil to each.  Then preheat in oven for 10 mins.

  11. Fill each hole to approximately 1/2 full with batter.

  12. Cook for approximately 15 mins, until golden brown.

Tip

You can add a pinch of sage and thyme to the mixture at the start of step 8 for additional flavour.

You can also grate some onion prior to commencing making the puddings and set this aside to add at the start of step 8.

You can also use a bread tin to make a larger Yorkshire Pudding and even add some sausages to the mixture in the bread tin before placing in the oven to prepare "Toad in the Hole".

These are delicious served as a starter to a Sunday dinner with onion gravy, as a side to your Sunday dinner or even as dessert to your Sunday dinner with Jam spread in the middle.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
