Recipe is created for
TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

trishpinalli:it all will depend of the flavourings you pop in. If you want a rich caramel flavour I would suggest caramelising the sugar on the stove first. Or you can add vanilla, caramel, hazelnut flavourings in.
But in saying that, I generally just do the full recipe in the Thermomix and don't add any flavourings and it's always been great
trishpinalli:
Is there anyone else who has made these and they have had very little flavour?
Has been sitting on the bench for a few months with no issues. The vanilla is really nice. Will try to do the caramel version next.
Peacock TM5:
oh really I'm not sure why. I have made this over 100 times and it's never gone hard. Did you do enough water? If it looks a little thick maybe add a touch of water and mix at the end to make it thinner...
made this for the first time yesterday & its gone hard.
Left in cupboard & not fridge.
Any help appreciated
Do I keep on the bench or in the fridge?
I made these for my brother in law and he said they just tasted like water with sugar in them. Is there something else I can do to make the flavour stronger and better?
jessica.thermomix:I must have made a mistake with the time setting or something 🤷♀️🤦♀️ Made this again today and I am very excited to say I have the best syrup. Thanks for sharing this will make a great gift for family and friends.
Mumma knows best:are you following it exactly? Because I have never had a problem! I've made it for over a year 🥺
