Slice

  • 130 grams Butter
  • 100 grams golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon bicarb soda
  • 130 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 75 grams brown sugar
  • 50 grams Shredded coconut
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds, (optional)

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. Pre heat oven to 160 degrees celcius and line a 20 x 25cm cake pan (or similar size).

    Heat butter and golden syrup for 2 minutes  at 60degrees, speed 2. Add bicarb soda and mix for 10 seconds, speed 3.

    Add all other ingredients and set dial to closed lid position. Mix on Dough mode"Dough mode" for 45 seconds, scraping down sides of bowl if required. 

    Press mixture into prepared pan, ensuring it is even. 

    Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden. Remove from oven and leave in pan for 10 minutes. 

    Remove from pan and allow to cool completely before slicing into small portions.

Tip

Great for school lunchboxes and picnics.

    Sorry but did not like this, was very dry and crumbly and most went in the bin as all we could taste was flour, think maybe it needs an egg or something to bind it
