Recipe's preparation

    Apple Walnut Cake
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C.

Peel and core 6 apples and cut up into small pieces and place in separate bowl, add 1 cup of halved walnuts, add the cinnamon and raw sugar and toss together and set aside.

Line the bottom of a 24cm round cake tin and spray with oil (I usually use rice bran spray oil for baking) or use butter to grease the tin.

Then into the TM6 bowl place all other ingredients and mix for 7 sec at SP5 - check if all ingredients are mixed thoroughly and scrape sides. If not all mixed properly repeat with another 2-3 sec on SP5.

Once all mixed, poor half the cake mixture into the cake tin and even out, then add half the apple mixture on top of that, and repeat after that with the rest of the cake mixture, and lastly add the remainder of the apple mixture on the top.

I usually decorate the top with some slivered almonds as well and than bake.

Once baked, test if the skewer comes out clean and allow to cool in the tin for about 15-20min before removing the cake.

Once the cake is cooled down you can sprinkle icing sugar on the top and/or to glaze you could use a bit of apricot jam.

    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
