  • 350-400 grams Bananas (ripe), cut into chunks
  • 110 grams Butter, softened
  • 130 grams caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 220 grams Plain Wholemeal Flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp bicarb soda
  • 100 grams Milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cacao

Recipe's preparation

    STEP 1.
  1. Preheat oven to 180*. Grease a deep-sided loaf tin and set aside.

     

     

  2. STEP 2.
  3. Put bananas into mixing bowl and mash 5 sec/sp 6.

     

     

  4. STEP 3.
  5. Add butter and caster sugar and mix 20 sec/sp 4. Scrape down sides of bowl.

     

     

  6. STEP 4.
  7. Add eggs and mix 10 sec/sp 4.

     

     

  8. STEP 5.
  9. Add plain flour, baking powder, salt, bicarb soda, milk, vanilla essence, chia seeds and cacao, and combine 20 sec/sp4.

     

     

  10. STEP 6.
  11. Pour into prepared tin and bake 50-70mins (180*) or until a skewer inserted into centre comes out clean.

     

     

  12. STEP 7.
  13. Allow to cool in tin for 30-40mins, then turn onto wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, store in airtight container.

Tip

Chia seeds can be left out.

 

Add more/less cacao to suit tastes, or switch for cocoa if that is all you use.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
