Ingredients

Base

  • 120 grams Butter
  • 140 grams plain flour
  • 50 grams Desiccated Coconut
  • 50 grams brown sugar

  • 160 grams water
  • 200 grams brown sugar
  • 220 grams full cream milk powder
  • 240 grams block butter
  • 125 grams golden syrup

Topping

  • 200 grams milk chocolate

Recipe's preparation

    Base
  1. Preheat oven to 160°C and line a 22cm x 22cm (or equivalent) slice tin.
  2. Add butter to mixer bowl and melt 2 mins/50°C/speed 2.
  3. Add flour, coconut and sugar and mix 15 sec/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /speed 3.
  4. Scrape down sides of mixer bowl and mix for a further 10 sec/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /speed 4.
  5. Place mixture into slice tin and press down firmly and evenly.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes or until top is a light golden colour. Dont cook for too long as it is going back in the oven later.
  7. Caramel
  8. Without washing the bowl, add all caramel ingredients and cook 22 mins/90°C/speed 4/MC off.
  9. Pour caramel over base and return to oven for a further 10-15 minutes until caramel is golden brown on top. Let cool.
  10. Topping
  11. Clean and dry mixing bowl.
  12. Break chocolate into small pieces and place into mixing bowl. Grate 10 sec/speed 9.
  13. Melt chocolate 4 mins/50°C/speed 2.
  14. Pour melted chocolate over caramel and let it set in the fridge.
  15. Try not to eat it all at once!

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
