1. Chop dates using turbo button 2-3 times for 1second.
2. Add butter, sugar and vanilla and melt for 3mins/90/sp2.
3. Cool slightly then with machine running on speed 2, crack both eggs in through the lid and mix until combined (approx 5 seconds).
4. Add crushed biscuits and mix reverse/spd 3/10 sec or until combined
5. Put into a lined tin with the coconut sprinkled on the bottom. Sprinkle more coconut on top and put into the fridge to set.
A caramel date slice that is a family favourite in our household
Tip
*If using fresh medjool dates we don't add any sugar as they seem alot sweeter than the dried ones. Saying that dried dates are alot cheaper to use in this recipe!
*We like to keep our 'darling dorothys' in the freezer and eat them straight out of there with a cuppa tea/coffee

Hi These are great - very similar to a traditional recipe I have been given. I followed that but used your method - only 1 egg and I added it and cooked again for 1 1/2 minutes, 90 C Speed 2. It turned out really well - exactly like the "old" recipe
