Ingredients
Vanilla Custard
- 120 g raw sugar
- 95 g custard powder
- 70 g cornflour
- 790 g Milk
- 200 g cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 30 g Butter
Pastry
- 2 sheet Puff pastry, Cooked in oven 10 mins ,200 deg
Icing
- 200 g raw sugar
- 75 g Butter
- t teaspoon vanilla extract
- 20 g Milk

Mill sugar 1 minute on spd 9.
Add all other ingredients and mix on spd 4 for 30 secs
Place sheet of pastry in container and add slightly cooled vanilla mix over the top and form into shape.
Place Icing on cooled pastry and place over the top of Vanilla.
Allow to set in the fridge for at least 4 hours before cutting.
Add all ingredients, except butter, and mix spd 9, 3-5 secs.
Cook 90 degs, spd 4 for 9 minutes.
Add butter and mix spd 4, 20 secs.

Tip
I use the sqaure tupperware cake container as this fits the sheets of pastry in almost perfectly and the custard can fit in without free form.

I made this recipe yesterday 28th August. Just perfect. Finished it off with Passionfruit icing. Just like the real old fashioned Vanilla Slice.

Custard was way too thick, tasted cornfloury and had a really gluggy, claggy texture when set. This will be going in the bin, a complete waste of ingredients.
