I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    Chocolate Slice
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees (Fan forced) & line with baking paper.

I use a lamington tray and find it just the right size.

If you're making your own icing sugar and desicated coconut or want to mill your sugar you may want to do that now.

  2. Mix butter and sugar until well combined. 10 seconds at speed 5.

  3. Move butter mix to one side of the bowl so that it can mix with the dry ingredient.

Add flour, coconut, cocoa, golden syrup, vanilla essence, and salt to bowl and mix for 10 seconds at speed 5.

scrape down sides of bowl and repeat until the mix is well combined. (Usually 2-3 times)

  4. The mix should be a moist crumbly appearance. If the Mix still looks dry redistribute with the spatula so that the ingredients can mix thoroughly.

  5. Pour mix into prepared tray and press down with your hands ensuring it is pressed into all corners.

  6. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

    Allow to cool before icing.

No need to clean bowl before preparing icing.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
