Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. Line a 19cm x 29 cm slice pan with baking paper.

Crush peppermint bars by hand until decimated into small chunks. Set aside in large bowl.

Process the biscuits (5 seconds, speed 6) until mostly crushed finely, with a few small chunks. Add to chopped peppermint.

Add butter, condensed milk and cocoa powder to TM, and combine (2 minutes, 60 degrees, speed 2) until smooth.

Add biscuits and peppermint to TM bowl, and mix (5 seconds, speed tmrc_emoticons.8) using spatula to aid mixing.

Press mixture firmly into pan with the back of a spoon, and refrigerate for about 20 minutes or until set.

    Clean and dry TM bowl.

Break chocolate into pieces and grate (10 seconds, speed 9) then melt (4 minutes, 50 degrees, speed 3) and pour over slice.

Place slice back into refrigerator until chocolate is set.

Tip

If the Crispy Peppermint Choc Bars are on sale, I get 3 and use an extra half in the recipe. The other half is for the cook.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
