Filling
- 250 g prunes, pitted, cut in halves
- 250 g dates, pitted, cut in thirds
- 250 g apple sauce
Base
- 100 g Butter, unsalted
- 250 g Milk
- 21 g dry yeast
- 15 g vanilla sugar
- 65 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 500 g plain flour
Crumbles
- 135 g sugar
- 15 g vanilla sugar
- 1.5 tsp cinnamon, ground
- 200 g plain flour
- 200 g Butter, unsalted

In a Bowl mix all Filling ingredients. Microwave on HIGH for 1 Minute. Stir well. Set aside, stirring occasionally.
Place butter into mixing bowl and press TURBO 3 times.
Add milk and yeast 2 min / 37º / Speed 1.
Add remaining base ingredients 6 sec / Speed 6.
Then kneed 1 min 30 sec / "Dough mode"
Form into a ball and rest covered 30 minutes.
Rinse and dry mixing bowl.
Preheat oven to 220℃.
Spread dough onto an oven tray.
Coat evenly with the filling.
Place Sugar, Vanilla Sugar and Cinnemon into mixing bowl
5 sec / Speed 1
Add Flour and Butter
"Closed lid" / TURBO x 2
1.5 min / "Dough mode"
Spread Crumbles onto the Filling. Bake on the Bottom Rack of the Oven at 220℃ for 25 Minutes.
Cut into slices while still warm.

If you don't have fresh ingredients this cake can be prepared from what's in your pantry and is delicious, fruity and not too sweet.

This slice is delicious! Well done with an interesting mix of ingredients. The prunes and dates were lovely together. I will try it with a generous squeeze of lemon juice in the fruit mix.
