Recipe's preparation

  1. This is a decadent recipe, inspired by my local cafe.  I consider this to be the ultimate chocolate brownie. It also happens to be gluten free!

Preheat oven 160 degrees Celsius, fan-forced

    1. Place chocolate in bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 7.

    2. Add butter to bowl and melt for 4 minutes, temperature 50 on speed 1.

    3. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla to the bowl and mix for 8 seconds on speed 3.

    4. Add cocoa and mix for a further 5 seconds on speed 3.5 (you may need to scrape sides and mix for a few more seconds).

    5. Pour batter into a lined slice tin and level with your spatula.

    6. Bake slice for 40-50 minutes, keeping an eye on it for browning too much. You want a skewer to come out slightly gooey.

Allow to cool in tin before removing and slicing. Enjoy!

Tip

This brownie does not pretend to be healthy! It's one to bring out on special occasions.  Using the best quality ingredients you can afford will bring a better result, however, it will be amazing regardless.

Dust with icing sugar and serve with icecream or whipped cream and berries for a beautiful dessert.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
