Ingredients
Chocolate cake
- 250ml full cream milk
- 125ml Vegetable oil( I use a light olive)
- 2tsp vanilla essence
- 2 eggs
- 265g plain flour
- 55g cocoa powder
- 1 1/2tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2tsp baking soda
- 440g caster sugar
- 1tsp salt
- 250ml Boiling water

- Preheat oven to (160°C fan) and grease and line 2x8 inch cake pans( no springform).
- Put kettle on to boil.
- Add milk, oil, eggs and vanilla essence to bowl and mix for 10secs/sp4.
- Add plain flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt to bowl and mix 10 secs/sp4.
- Scrape down and mix for 5secs/sp4.
- Add in boiling water and mix for 5 secs/sp4.
- Divide mixture between 2 pans and bake for 35 mins. Check cakes are cooked with a skewer.
- Allow to cool and then ice with Chocolate Buttercream.
