Recipe's preparation

    Ghee
  1. 1. Insert the butterfly to your tm bowl.

    2. Press tare (make sure that it’s not a negative reading).

    3. Pour 600g of pure cream and place the tm lid and mc.

    4. Set SPEED 4 and patiently wait next to your thermomix for about 2 to 3 minutes (varies depending on the cream) as it will get bumpy once it’s ready.

    5. Now turn it off and pull the tm bowl out.

    6. Place the simmering basket into the tm bowl and pour out the      buttermilk.

    7. Squeeze the butter hard with the help of the spatula and make sure that you have separated all the buttermilk present.

    8. Place the butter in a separate bowl.

    9. Quickly rinse and dry your tm bowl and place it back.

    10. Add the butter back into the tm bowl and set TIME - 60min, TEMP - Varoma, Speed - Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting"

    11. Once ready - Pour the ghee out with the help of a strainer and store it in an air tight container.

Tip

If your time poor - you can still make ghee in 60 min without any preparation time.

Use unsalted butter and directly go to STEP 10 and enjoy the   benefits of GHEE tmrc_emoticons.)

If using Pure Cream MAKE SURE you purchase the ones which are closer to the expiry date.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Thank you!  This was fantastic and easy!  I bought the butter and did it from there and used a couple of chux super wipes to strain it (clean of course) and it worked a treat!  Thank you!

One day, I got Pure cream from the supermarket and immediately came home and tried to make butter.

Unfortunately, this time my receipe did'nt work. I was quite surprised and was wondering what went wrong??

I first thought, may be the cream I got was not good but I was still not happy with my thought tmrc_emoticons.(

Then I called one of my very dear friend, who's also an Indian and happens to be one of the thermomix agent (Nishita Bansali). She sure knows what I was talking about tmrc_emoticons.)

Well, after I told her what I had experienced, she immediately asked me '' Was that a fresh batch of cream?''. As you know I replied YES.

Well, here is the solution for the problem now - She told me, whenever you make butter always buy pure cream which is very close to the expiry date.

TADA  tmrc_emoticons.)   There we go, I tried it and it works tmrc_emoticons.)
