I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
First add water and yeast to the TM bowl. Then add flour, and all remaining ingredients into bowl. Mix together 10s / s4.
Then set to lid lock / 2.5 minutes / knead function.Turn onto bread mat and leave to rise (approx 20-30 mins).
Set oven at 150c
Once dough has risen, separate dough into 3 equal parts. Roll each part into a long log roughly the same size and length. Place all 3 logs next to each and squeeze the tips together to attach them together. Then plait the 3 logs as you would do a hair plait! Once plaited, place onto baking tray with baking paper. Brush over with the egg wash and then sprinkle with any seeds/sprinkle or leave plain.
Place into warm oven and bake for 20 – 30 mins until golden on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Lightly beat egg and water in a small bowl until combined.

Tip
This recipe is kosher as it uses oil. Nuttalex can be used instead of oil and remain kosher. Any oil can be used, but I find Macadamia Oil gives it a lovely nutty flavour. If you want a sweeter version, add more sugar or some honey. Can use any sprinkle you desire or leave it plain. A much healthier version than Glick's!

Since this has wheat, I am unable to eat it but the family absolutely loved it. I used honey instead of sugar and two eggs because I had small ones. I only added 15grams of flour and it still held its shape very well.
Not sure what I did wrong, mine looked great but the consistency was all wrong, more like a scone dough dense and crumbly... (tasted nice)

First attempt at this recipe...cant wait to try it at Shabbat dinner tomorrow

Looks fantastic and super easy... would love some tips on rolling the dough
Great bread, my son adores it!
This is amazing!! I have now made this about 6 times, and once I made 2 at the same time, as I knew there wouldn't be enough as everyone loved it so much!! I have also used this for French Toast..... OMG!!! It makes incredible french toast!!
I also found I need to let it prove for 45 mins, and 30 mins in the oven, but otherwise, perfect. Thank you!!
This was soooo good! Big success! Although I needed to let it sit and rise for longer than stated, as it really didn't move in the above time, so I left it for about 45 mins. Also I don't have a mat, so I used an oiled bowl and sat it under the heat lamps in my bathroom! But it turned out so well - there was barely any left within 10 mins of it coming out of the oven!
Was delicious. I substituted the oil for applesauce which worked well.
I plaited the challas, but when they bake in the oven, the challah breaks/seperates open in the middle. Any suggestions how to avoid this?
I made this a few days ago, and it was great, so easy! Tasted lovely, though I used vegetable oil as I didn't have any macadamia nut oil on hand. I will try with that next time. Doesn't matter that I don't live close to Glicks now, I can make my own!
