I added about half a tsp of ginger.

    this was sooo good.

but do agree- really sweet. When I went to India in November 2022, I fell in love with their masala chai- but don't even think there was any sugar in it. next time I make this, I will not add any sugar. Although, I don't have sweeteners in my normal tea or coffee. You might like to add a little if you prefer sweeter.

I also had to stop the thermo with about 30seconds to spare, as the chai was spilling up over the top and out of the bowl.

Thank you for sharing! It was perfect with punch of spice.

I halved liquid and reduced sugar to 30g for 2 large serves or 4 small. It’s really lovely and definitely sweet enough. I think even 20g of sugar would be enough.

After visiting India this year, this is the closest I have got to the real thing. I throw some ginger in it also and lessen the sugar. I find the thermo strainer not effective so have invested in a small tea strainer. I have the cheesecloth as that is what they use in India but the small strainer is less mess.

Easy and very yum.  I only used half the sugar and it was still sweet
