Recipe's preparation

  1. Describe the preparation steps of your recipe

  2. Peel feijoas and trim at each end.

Place lemon rind in TM bowl.  Mix 10 seconds on speed 10.

Add sugar.  Mix 15 seconds on speed 10.

Add lemon juice and feijoas.  Place rice basket on top of lid instead of MC. Cook for 45-55 minutes on 100*C on speed 2.

Cook 2 minutes on Varoma temperature on speed 2.

    Pour into sterilised jars.

Tip

Experiment with the time depending on how soft/hard you like your jam.

This is really yummy on fresh baked hot cross buns (I'm eating as I type!).  Or brioche.  Or anything!

This was delicious and Oh so easy, possibly would reduce the sugar a little next time, I found 50mins was plenty long enough for cooking it

A lovely recipe. I added 2 apples as I was 100gm short of Feijoas. I used only 500gm of sugar and used limes instead of lemon as that's what I had at the time and they were from my tree. Turned out really well and tastes lovely. Thank you for sharing your recipe Love

Sadly, my batch did not taste/smell of feijoa and was very grainy. It was more like a sugary paste. I noticed that during the cooking process the lovely feijoa smell dissipated after a few minutes. I have since read elsewhere feijoas only need to cook for 5 mins due to their high pectin content.

YUM! I was a little nervous because I don't love the taste of Feijoas, but this was amazing! Just waiting for mine to cool down now, but the flavour is really yummy! I also cut the sugar down to 500g & it's still plenty sweet enough.

My daughter wanted me to make feijoa jam. I've never eaten it or made it before. This is delicious!!! I used 500g sugar and cooked it for 45 mins only, on reverse speed 2. At the end there were 4 whole feijoas so I chopped them on speed 4 for about 3 seconds, so there were some chunks in the jam. Just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to make more batches for my Christmas baskets, but in the meantime, jars will be winging their way to my daughter in China!

Mine boiled over, I reduced sugar and it could do with having the sugar reduced even more. Also too runny for my liking but that could be because I had to reduce the temp to stop it boiling over.

Is it 1000g once they have been peeled?

I found it quite sweet, and we had tart feijoas.  I think next time I will reduce the sugar.  Otherwise I really like it.  I would possibly try some cinnamon in it next time too.  Thanks
