I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Place dates in TM 6sec speed 6 or until chopped evenly. Add sugar and butter to TM 5min Varoma temp. speed 2.
While this is cooking measure 4 cups rice bubbles to a mixing bowl. Grease your tray and sprinkle coconut all over the base and sides. Check TM to see how the date mix is going, when ready it should resemble a thick batter. Mix the date mixture with the rice bubbles really well until all rice bubbles are coated. Place mix into prepared tray and press down with the back of a metal spoon until mix is all even. Refrigerate for an hour before cutting into slices. Great for kids lunchboxes or special treat. Enjoy!

What else could I use instead of dates as I don't have any in the cupboard at the moment? Has anyone used saltanas instead?
Yum yum yum, these are so moreish and so easy to make. I also only did 50g of sugar and they were sweet enough.
Stumbled across this recipe and remembered I had a tonne of rice bubbles in the cupboard. As per comments I reduced the sugar to 50g but would probably reduce more next time for our tastes. This was all done easily within a matter of minutes. My daughter will love this when she gets home. Thanks.
Great recipe thank you I cut the sugar down as well 50g and still sweet enough
Delicious and hard to stop at one slice! Cut the sugar down to 50g and might use less next time too as quite sweet for our taste with the dates. So quick and easy. Thank you!
Exellent recipe...everyone loved it!!

Yum!!!!!. After reading through the comments, I used 50g raw sugar and 100g butter and they turned out just fine and tasted delicious. I was going to coat with melted chocolate, but my kids (& my taste buds) are more than eager to eat them as they are. Thank you for the recipe
These were great. I had about half a bag of marshmallows that had gone a bit dry so I added these instead of sugar. They melted just fine and turned out great.
Amazing, I have almost eaten half the batch. I reduced sugar to 90g and butter to 100g. Will reduce sugar to 50g next time. So delicious. Can't wait to give some to my 2yr old. Will be making again. So so quick, easy and delicious. Thanks
Delicious and so easy!!! The kids are yet to try them though as I keep stealing them
