I used 500 g mulberries, 125 g sugar, 45 ml lemon juice and added 30 ml Pectin(Jam setta) at the beginning of the process. Add more water to get a more runny jam.
We prefer a tart rather than a sweet taste.
To cook 800 g fruit(I have a TM 5), I use:
160g sugar
40 ml lemon juice
30 g Pectin powder(Jamsetta)
Added 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to help set and reduce sweetness
Cooked on Veroma for extra 10mins as very runny prior to that
Will try cooking on Veroma straight away next time
Used basket instead of lid
Tastes and looks delicious!
Made this recipe and followed the instructions, but added some lemon juice as others suggested. After the 5minutes on Varoma temp I decided I wanted it a bit thicker so cooked for 5mins again at varoma and it was great!
Very nice day recipe. I also added unpeeled apple and the pips, as well as the lemon juice. I used 800g of fruit and 500 of sugar. Cooked an extra 10 mins varoma with the basket on top.
I used 480gm Mulberries, 300gms raw sugar, 1/2 green apple with 2Tablespoons Lemon Juice. Cooked 100 degrees, Speed 2 20minutes, 5 minutes Varoma Speed 2. Extremely pleased with result as my jams usually are a bit runny. Used basket instead MC. & big thank you to above comments.
Fantastic!
after reading other comments and comparing other recipes, I added a small green apple, blended it 3 secs speed 5.5 with berries and 1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice to ensure the jam thickened. Sensational. Thank you.
Made this lovely jam, however my kids didn't like the squash fruit or well the whole fruit. So in the second batch i at the fruit and cut for 2 seconds on speed 6. Then followed recipe + add a tblspn of lemone juice. Now we have a great tasting jam in a nice consistency. Thank you for this great recipe
I made mulberry jam yesterday & left the MC off as it needs to reduce. I would recommend putting the basket on instead as it splutters a little bit
added a tablespoon of lemon juice, and cooked 5 minutes longer and still a bit runny. put it in jar anyway to cool down and tastes yum! wont last long in my house
My jam came out really runny, I ended up cooking it for a lot longer. Tasted beautiful though.
