Ingredients

Spicy sugar free tomato chutney

  • 250 g green apples, peeled, cored and quartered
  • 200 g red onion, peeled and quartered
  • 1000 g fresh tomato, peeled, cored and quartered
  • 60 g stevia, granulated
  • 200 g apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 2 clove whole cloves
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 2 fresh red chilli, deseeded and finely sliced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder

Recipe's preparation

  1. To peel tomatoes score the base of each tomato with a cross. Place tomatoes in a large bowl and cover with boiling water and then leave for 5 min. Skins should now eaily peel off.
  2. Place apples and onion in mixer bowl.
    Insert MC into lid
    Chop for 5 seconds at speed 6.
    Set aside.
  3. Place peeled quartered tomatoes in mixer bowl.
    Insert MC into lid
    Chop for 5 seconds speed 5.
  4. Add all ingredients to mixer bowl including the onion and apple mix.
    Insert MC into lid.
    Mix for 3 seconds Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" reverse blades speed 4.
  5. remove MC and place strainer basket over lid
    Cook for 60minutes, 100 degrees, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 2
  6. Increase Temperature to veroma and cook for another 25minutes, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 2.
  7. Place into sterilised jars

Tip

If you prefer a thicker consistency increase cooking time at step 6 by about 5minutes

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
