Do you chop the apples or do you add them whole/quartered/shreded?

Made this today.  Smells delicious.  Blended well for my 7 month olds and added formula.  I am going to attempt to freeze this today as there is more than my boys will eat within 48 hours.  Would make a great alternative to porridge for adults as well.
