Tip
You can buy canele moulds easily on ebay, you want the fluted style to have the traditional french look.

Fantastic recipe
makes 12 in large silicone moulds
cooked 10 minutes on 220 , turned it down to 200 and cooked 45 minutes
Wait till cooled before you take out of the mounds
Thank you for a great recipe
tinalm:the butter is only for greasing the pan
I have the 9 hole mini canele pan from matchbox, so i found 8 mins on 210 degrees and 30-40 mins on 180 degrees, depending on how brown and crisp you want them is sufficient. This mixture makes 18 minis
RebeccavW: Did they taste okay without the butter? I'm confused as to how much butter to add and when to do it.
Thank you so much for this recipe. Took them to my family for Easter lunch and baked them in mini silicone Canele moulds and they turned out perfectly.
I didn't use any butter, how much would you recommend?
Happy Easter!
Add butter to step 2
iI baked 220 for ten minutes then 180 degrees for 50 mins
