Tip

The bi-carb will make it bubble in step 2, if it starts to bubble over, increase the speed slightly.

I love this simple recipe! It turns our perfect every time and all who eat it, love it! I also use Tracey Purdey's chocolate icing recipe. Today it's going to become a 21st Birthday cake.

The best! I have a similar recipe that Mum used to make, so was handy to come across this one already converted to Thermomix! I made it to sell at school canteen and it was the most popular item for sale that morning! So moist, beautiful flavour and a lovely cake. I also used Tracey Purdey's chocolate icing which finished it off just nicely! Thanks for sharing!

I've got a stove top boiled choc cake recipe that I wanted to convert & now don't have to as this is the same recipe. Lovely moist cake. Iced it with Tracey Purdy's fabulous chocolate icing recipe. x

Definitely a moist cake and improved over a couple of days. My cocoa came to 35g, will add more next time for a more "chocolatey" flavour. Thanks for the recipe.

Was great to find that someone had already converted this recipe successfully for TMX! My family has made this many times already!

Today a made it Vegan by replacing butter with nuttelex, and replacing the two eggs with 2TBsp of ground chia seeds + 6TBsp (or 120mL) of water.

Just in case anyone was interested, to replace one egg use 1TBsp of ground chia seeds and 3TBsp of water, mix together and then add to recipe!
