Ingredients
Cake
- 420 grams raw sugar
- 260 grams yoghurt
- 6 eggs
- plain flour - 3 cups
- 4 level teaspoons baking powder
- zest of 3-4 oranges
- 200 grams canola oil
Orange syrup
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup icing sugar

Preheat oven to 175 degrees celcius.
Grease and line two loaf tins with baking paper.
Place sugar, eggs and yoghurt into thermomix bowl and mix on speed 5 for 25 seconds, until well combined.
Combine flour, zest and baking powder in a separate bowl.
Add the dry mixture to the thermomix bowl in two portions, mixing for 5 seconds on speed 5 each time.
Add canola oil to the thermomix bowl and mix on speed 5 for 15 seconds.
Divide the batter between prepared loaf tins and bake for around 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted to the centre of the cakes come out clean.
Once the cake has cooled slightly, combine the orange juice and icing sugar in a jug. Put the mixture through a sieve if it is lumpy.
Poke several holes into the cake and slowly pour the syrup over the cakes, spreading it with a spoon evenly. Excess syrup will be soaked into the cake.
Allow to stand for at least 5 minutes before serving.

This recipe can be halved to yield one loaf cake.
