I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
STEP 1 -
Add cubed butter, chocoalte, nesquik, sour cream and sugar to bowl,
speed 4, temp 50C for 4minutes
All ingredients should combine within this time, if not continue until chocolate is melted and all ingredients have become a liquid.
Let the mixture cool for 5 - 10 minutes
STEP 2 -
Add eggs and vanilla essence,
speed 3 for 30 secs
STEP 3 -
Add flour"Counter-clockwise operation" and mix
speed 5 for 15 seconds,
stop and scrap down edges and then mix for another 15 seconds.
At this point it should all be combined and there should be no lumps of flour remaining. If not, then mix for another 15 seconds.
STEP 4:
Put batter into a lined cake tin and bake in oven for 1 hour 15min or until a bamboo skewer comes out clean.
Pre-heat oven to 160C (fan forced oven)
Tip
When I have made this cake I have wrapped the sides of the cake tin with wet tea towels and placed a peice of baking paper on top of the batter to create a cake that rises evenly. This is not necessary though but does work for me.
Your oven may be different to mine so may require shorter or longer cooking times.
Line your cake tins with baking paper
Let the cake cool.
I have frozen this cake and defrosted and it works great.
Also good for stacking and carving

Comments
Hi there, do you bake it with the wet towels on it???
This worked perfectly for me & was enjoyed by all that ate it. The recipe is very generous, I made 2 x 7inch cakes out of one batch.
This didn't work very well for me. I didn't do the additional tip of wrapping the cake tin as advised at the bottom but perhaps that would have worked - I would advise anyone trying this recipe to do that.
