Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven 190 degrees C.  Line 8" round cake tin, and spray with cooking oil.

    Insert Butterfly into Thermomix.

  2. Cream softened butter and sugar.  30 seconds on speed 3.

Scrape down sides and repeat - cream for 30 seconds on speed 3.  Scrape down sides.

  3. Add large egg.  Whisk for 30 seconds on speed 3.  Scrape down sides.

  4. Add flour and milk.  Mix for 20 seconds on speed 4.  Scrape down sides.

Mix for further 15 seconds on speed 4.

  5. Pull out butterfly.  Scrape cake mix off of it.  Scrape cake mix out of jug, and into prepared tin.

  6. Sprinkle 1/2 packet of jelly crystals over cake mix.  With a knife, swirl the jelly crystals through the cake.

  7. Place in oven.  Bake 30 mins or until light brown, and inserted skewer comes out clean.

  8. Best served warm with dollop of cream!  (My 5 year old daughter calls this "fairy dust cake"!)
