Place in an airtight container and wait for 3 days to fully develop flavour and texture (if you can wait that long!)
Preheat Fan forced oven to 150 deg
Tip
Recipe can be made without Mace.
You can use just golden syrup, instead of addition of treacle.
You can use just brown sugar, instead of additional dark brown sugar.
Crystallised/candied ginger chopped, can be substituted with 1 tsp of ginger powder.
A delightfully chewy, sticky gingerbread type slice, with robust flavours that improve with time!

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

My very Yorkshire husband has requested this for a long time. I was glad to find your recipe. He very much enjoyed it. Ofcourse it developed its taste over time and a few days in was when it was best. A definite keeper for him.
This was so easy to make and tastes delicious. Definitely agree that it gets better over time!
